Our Director

Sharon Baker is a long time educator and advocate for youth.  She received a B.S. in Social Work from Texas Southern University.  She furthered her education by attending LeTourneau University and studied under the Teacher Certification Program.

Since graduating from college, her main priority has been the well-being of youth throughout Houston and surrounding areas.  She was a supervisor for a residential treatment home for youth twelve to eighteen years of age.  Her desire to empower young people led her to supervise a transitional program for homeless youth.

After spending several years in this rewarding field, she took her passion for educating children into the classroom where she taught grades six through twelve.  Sharon believes that young children need a strong start in education.

After serving over six years as a principal, she decided to take her love and passion in education to the child care arena.  She is currently the owner and director of Back To Basic Christian Child Care Center.  Her belief is that early childhood development cultivates key learning attributes, which ultimately result in character development and academic excellence.

Professionally trained and industry oriented, our teachers are exemplary when it comes to child care  Our staff members must have and maintain a clean track record in order to be employed by Back To Basic.  We operate under the midset of perfectonist in every level of our operation.

Our teaching staff is highly diversified matched with a low teacher to student ratio.  This staffing structure enables each teacher to attend to each child on a personal level.  BACK TO BASIC is committed to positive, educational results.
